Dilemma of Id explores the perceptions and projections of people, and how environmental factors like external society influence people's ego and superego. I interviewed people of different identities and locations about their self-perceptions and the relationship between groups and individuals, and combined psychological research on Freudian subconscious theory with positive nihilism to skeuomorphic the subconscious through this installation sections, to gaze at the material and appearance of objects, making them self-observant. It is an attempt to express the search for self-functional value by breaking free from the confines of preconceived impressions.

The three-frequency images and poetry section express the reflections of objective self-perceptions, reshaping the possibilities of the multi-faceted self. The words associated with the preconceived impressions of the objects are seemingly ungrammatical, meaningless and unusual sentences, symbolising the established meaning has become disordered, and metaphorically the bondage to the preconceived impressions of the objects. I film model intervening artificially in the objects through changes in form or state, observing the difference between their ego and superego. How will they break out of the confines? I explore and redefine the uses of objects to map the possibilities of human values.
